What is a backup?

General Information

A backup is a full copy of your Minecraft server files, including all its data – worlds, plugins, configurations, and other files. With backups, you can easily restore your server to a previous state in case of crashes, configuration errors, attacks, or accidental file deletion. Regularly creating backups is crucial for the security of your server and the comfort of your players.

How to create a backup?

You can create a backup manually or using the panel, specifically in the Backups tab.

WARNING:

Always create a backup on a stopped server!

  1. Go to the Backups tab (located on the left side of the navigation bar).
  2. Click the Create backup button.
  3. Name the backup – enter a name that will make it easier to identify later (e.g., Backup).

OPTIONAL! Specify files/folders to exclude. For example, to skip the world directory, type world/. To exclude all plugins, type plugins/.
Check the Protected option if you want to ensure that the backup cannot be accidentally deleted.

  1. Click Create backup and wait for the process to finish. The backup will appear on the list and will be available for download or restoration at any time.

How to restore a backup?

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Go to the Backups tab (located on the left side of the navigation bar).
  3. Select a backup from the list and click the three dots, then Restore.
  4. Choose whether you want the server to delete all files for you, and then confirm by clicking the Restore from backup button. Once the restoration is complete, you can start the server and continue playing from the backup state.
